So far, no change, but I've also only been able to plot out six pieces of land. I've used the equation provided by the Wiki; a minimum of 12 trees and 5 flowers per 16x16 plots of land. If I plot out the whole town and there still isn't a difference, I'm giving up. But in any case, here's how I'm doing it.

The Tom Nook pattern that appears on the ground is a property line. I started in one corner of town and plotted out sixteen of them across, then sixteen down. I repeated that pattern and at this point half of the town is squared off. I've had to plant more trees in some places, like where the houses are located, but I haven't needed any new flowers. In fact, I might have too many. We'll see when the trees get bigger.

Also in this picture can be found me, falling on my face. I bought a King Tut mask from the Able Sisters not knowing that it makes you top heavy. Or blind. In any case, if you run for more than a few paces, you fall flat on your face. Here's another angle.

Adventures With Pascal

I have, as of this writing, collected three pirate items from Pascal. The only problem I'm running into is that I can't figure out how to make Serena (the fairy puppy in the fountain) happy.

All that my Prima guide says is to answer her questions. Initially, she asked me this.

I said no, that I threw in a plain axe. She said that she respected my honesty and gave it back. No upgrades.

On my second attempt, I told her that I threw a gold axe into the fountain, hoping that maybe she would give a gold one back. Her response was something like, "That's silly. You can't throw a gold axe in here!" and gave me my axe back. Consarnit!

The third attempt went worse than previous ones. I thought I should try lying again by telling her that I threw a silver axe into the fountain. She called me out on it and got kind of angry.

So, it seems that the axe upgrade is still beyond my grasp.

Dandelions!

There's this cool thing that dandelions do if you find the kind that are all white and fluffy!

Just like in real life!

Things Looking Up

So, despite there being virtually no flowers and about A HUNDRED weeds to pull, things began looking up in Townburg almost immediately. It was a Saturday. I was bored and suddenly decided to see what Townburg would look like in the spring. I decided to go into the past to May of 2008.

This was what I discovered after coming out of my house. Well, Lori from Crawtown told me there were some things about time travel she needed to let me know. I was unfortunately foolish and went into the past without asking for her advice. Upon my return, I discovered a multitude of things. Namely, this.

That's right. Apparently without going into the future little bits at a time, everything that has taken place between May and the present was erased. At least in terms of the environment. Townburg was overrun with weeds, nearly all of the flowers Chris 2 and I so painstakingly planted were dead. Ruby had moved away. Pippy left within a few days of my return.

It was madness.

Valentine's Day

I got shafted. Chris 2 is penning Involuntarily Vegetarian, a food blog about being a carnivore but cooking vegetarian for the sake of both health and the happiness of one's relationship. Meanwhile I've begun something similar entitled Everyday Enchantment where I post recipes, craft ideas, and more, for those living magical lives.

But I've still been playing Animal Crossing and I plan on returning to updates as of right now!

In addition to our busyness with life and other adventures, another reason for my lack of updates was the fact that...

I DESTROYED TOWNBURG!!

Water Those Flowers!

I'm not sure how many other people are having this problem, but our environment hasn't improved past the "not a failing grade but not a passing one either." We've been trying SO hard to get a more decent grade. We've cut down trees, planted more flowers, moved flowers from one place to another, and still the townsfolk aren't satisfied.

We have, however, discovered that daily watering of your flowers assists in the creation of new ones. When this happens, I take a trip to the City!

After being hit on by the bus driver (again) I wandered around and talked to some city folk. On my way to Katrina's I found the traffic cones leading off to the alley weren't there! It was time to visit Resetti Surveillance!

To be honest, not much goes on in there. It's rare that the cones aren't up, and I poked around looking at all the gadgets and things for a little while. On my way out, Resetti gave me an attitude. I mean, I was just saying goodbye!

But I got a silver shovel out of the deal. I researched it a bit and discovered that it doesn't do a ton except increase the chance of doubling money hit out of a money rock (by about 10%). *shrug*

I happily discovered that Gracie Grace is having an end of season sale. I bought a tuxedo shirt and a fancy hat at 20% off regular price. Granted, the combination still cost me about $12,000 bells, but I'm really digging the outfit.

Now that I was completely styling, it was off to the theater! Not much of a show. I left with the emotion of disappointment.

A few weeks ago, my trip to the Happy Room Academy had me visiting a room from Crawtown. I figured I should stop by and see who was the lucky duck to be on display this week. I was very surprised to discover that the currently picked room was mine!

I was all sorts of confused, considering my most previous score was something in the 4,000s. I double checked with Lyle to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

Well, there you go I guess. Go me. I'm glad to see that it wasn't my ugly citrus room either.

I stopped by Redd's to check on paintings. I purchased a dynamic one and brought it back to Blathers. Unfortunately, it was a forgery. It's looking pretty nice in my room right now.

Today was the fishing tournament. It ends in less than five minutes. As far as I know, Chris 2 is in the lead with the biggest horse mackerel. We've both received a handful of prizes for getting the biggest fish of the moment. I expect trophies will be awarded momentarily.

Lizz's Development

This have been going really well for me in Townburg. I harvested my first coconut crop the other day. Townburg now grows every type of currently available fruit. We've also set up a "farmer's market", as our friend Moxie called it, in front of our gate where we keep four pieces of each fruit waiting for visitors. We've also started cross breeding flowers. Orange cosmos can be found in multiple locations while one red and yellow pansy grows in the southeastern part of town.

Chris 2 and I finally donated enough bells to the town fund to have another bridge built. It's currently under construction. In the meantime, I've used my income to pay off my second mortgage.

Of course, I now have another one to pay off. I just can't help expanding!

Much like the urge for me to upgrade my house, I've also chosen taste over points in regard to the Happy Room Academy. I would rather have a room that looked nice as opposed to one where everything matched a theme, especially when that theme was citrus. It was just too much. I'm happy that I now have a variety of items. However, I am utilizing the principals of City Folk feng shui. Grouping green items on the right side of your house is just one of those principles.

In other exciting news, Pascal was in Townburg when I ventured outside yesterday. I had read online that should you have a scallop on you, Pascal will ask for it in exchange for some very odd advice. He will also give you something from the Pirate Theme. I received a "ship's compass." He then dove into the river.

That's all for now!

First Donations

Do you like my snazzy outfit?

I nearly died when I found this "mandarin hat" for sale at the Able Sisters'. I tried designing a dress to match it, but ended up with something yellow instead of something orange. The design can be picked up by visiting the Able Sisters' in Townburg, though, as can this "Hula Girl" getup designed by Moxie from Mistwood.

In any case, this post is from an excited me who made her first donation to the museum just a few days ago. I procured this "jolly painting" from Redd's in the City and was quite pleased to discover that it was not a fake. This makes the third edition to our gallery in the museum. Very awesome.

So, we heard about this technique from multiple sources and decided to try it out. Last weekend Chris 2 bought turnips from Joan. She sold most of them, but kept a bundle until the following Sunday (when they rot). We placed the turnip on the ground and shortly thereafter found it crawling with ants!

Now, I have to admit that Chris 2 bought the turnips. I had permission, but I went along and took the credit anyway. We didn't know that the turnip would disappear, otherwise I would have signed off and we would have switched users. But in any case, the ant was my second donation to the museum. I don't get a chance to donate much to the museum because I don't play the game as much. True, this isn't an excuse to finish a plan Chris laid out...

Rotting turnips may also attract flies, but we haven't had luck with that yet.

Visiting Crawtown Again

Be warned, I have a lot to share in this post.

Chris 2 told me that Lori was looking to shop at other Nook stores this evening. I happened to be home and opened my gates right away. Once she was done looking for new items to bring back to Crawtown, I headed back with her to check out her Nookington's!

And it was glorious.

Nookington's is currently the most upgraded type of Nook store a town can get. Needless to say, impressive. I purchased a handful of citrus themed items to accompany the "orange chair" I picked up the other day. Long story short, my room back in Townburg is now completely atrocious and covered in representations of oranges, lemons, and limes. The Happy Room Academy grades home owners based on the principles of feng shui as well as how well items match therein. Hopefully this will increase the amount of points I get. I don't plan on keeping it this way, but I will wait to change it back to its original glory until my next grade is received.

Matty was my host in Crawtown this evening. I wasn't in Crawtown for more than an hour, during which his wardrobe changed completely.

These getups honesly look like they could be arch nemeses. Lori and Matty have worked A LOT at getting animals and fossils. I was excited to find not only butterflies but a seahorse! The dinosaurs really impressed me, too. Their gallery is a bit lacking. While there I decided to go back to Townburg and order them something to add to it. Alas, Nook's does not have paintings. Foiled again!

Matty admitted to me that the two of them have time traveled in order to make their museum so jam packed with fantasticness. I'm really really really really REALLY started to get tempted to time travel here...

In any case, Crawtown is awesome. I'm glad I get to go to such a place and hope to do so regularly from here on out.

Our Most Famous Catchphrase

Chris 2 has called our resident Puck a lot of things including "the village idiot." I happen to like Puck, idiot or not, and he's been quite the character recently.

First and foremost, he approached me the other day to let off a little steam. He complained about other residents like Pippy and Gloria and their excessive politeness. The next time they told him to have a nice day, he said...

I'm not sure whether or not he did such a thing, but I'm leaning toward yes. Why? Because he approached me shortly thereafter stating the following.

As you might suspect, he inquired as to whether or not he should stop saying his famous phrase. Chris 2 and I can't help but love using "baseball" in casual conversation because of Puck. I told him to keep saying it. Seriously, Chris 2 and I say "What's up, Baseball?" to each other all the time.

On the subject of catchphrases, Pippy has picked one up from Mistwood's residents.

I was also quite surprised to see someone new in the theater on Saturday! The event saddened me greatly, but I'm back to share a small tidbit of information that I find very useful.

It's possible that you're like me; you started playing City Folk without much knowledge of the game. Items, in particular, can be rather confusing. For instance, I purchased something called an elephant slide (y'know, those things you can get for your yard for kids) expecting to be able to place it outside and actually use it. No can do. Apparently it's only for decoration, despite the fact that in reality it has more of a purpose.

Since then, I've been reluctant to buy pieces of furniture or accessories because I don't know if they actually function. Well, I'm happy to report that items called "wardrobes" or "dressers" do, in fact contain items! Don't pass them up!

Tom Nook will eventually carry them in his store. When you see one, buy it and bring it home. To use the wardrobe or dresser, place it in your room, go to it, and press the A button.

You will be presented with 16 shelves or drawers that can each hold ten items. That's 160 items you can store inside! Yowza! This means that you have somewhere to keep collectible clothing, paper, and more without having to carry them in your pockets or covering the floor of your house. This also means that you have a place to put items that you don't necessarily need but want to buy so that your Nook store can upgrade more quickly. The quality of the store is improved by how much money you and your neighbors spend there.

Very cool beans.

Sidewalks for Walking

Shortly after moving into Townburg, I realized that getting to and from important places like my house, Tom Nook's, and the Able Sisters' that a sidewalk would come in handy. As Chris 2 mentioned yesterday, we weren't the only people to think of such a thing! Moxie from Mistwood laid down sidewalks as well and Lori from Crawtown placed designs on the ground outside of homes and businesses for decoration.

But there's another benefit to sidewalks that you may not realize or know about. We've heard from multiple sources that naturally worn earthen paths are created in areas that are regularly traversed. In other words, wherever you RUN regularly becomes a natural path, free of grass. So how is this fact connected to sidewalks?

Building sidewalks will theoretically enable you to create specific paths without leaving it up to chance. You see, putting a design on the ground is just that. It doesn't make the ground any different, it just colors it so as to differentiate it from the other pattern. You can create the natural walking trails in advance by laying down sidewalks and planning where these trails will be.

Doing so is relatively easy. Moxie's design was quite detailed; it looked like a combination between dirt and wood. Maybe even rail road wood. In any case, that reflects the town owner's ability to create elaborate designs. In Townburg, I simply created a gray square using the coat tool followed by two rectangles of darker gray and brown colors. See below.

When you figure out where you'd like to place your sidewalk tiles, go to your designs, click on it, and select Place on Ground. Voila! Insta-sidewalk.

It may take awhile to complete your path depending on how spread apart your town is, and you will occasionally have to place new tiles. There is a small problem with people (yourself included) accidentally picking up the tiles from the ground. But if you start off on a run beside a sidewalk you can still run on it without picking pieces of it up and stuffing them into your pockets.

After a period of two weeks has passed, pull up some of your sidewalk pieces and check out your progress. We haven't made it this far, unfortunately, so we cannot confirm that the design doesn't get in the way of the creation of your trails. I suspect that it won't, but we'll have to wait a little bit and see.

Pippy Snot and Ferretface

Tonight's big excitement was a visit to and from Moxie from Mistwood, another town with a blog! Meeting new people is always fun, and it's also worth mentioning that this visit facilitated the acquisition of PEACHES. The very last fruit we needed in Townburg! Wooo!

Btw, speaking of fruit, all but one one of my coconut trees made it! yay!

Oh yeah, I was talking about Moxie's visit. Peaches. Got some. Mistwood was neat. It had an island, and it also had sidewalks like Townburg does, except theirs is made of wood. But Lizz will tell you more about our sidewalks tomorrow.

I met Eloise, who called me ferretface. There was also another animal that used the catchphrase "Shazam". OMFG. Why didn't I think of that? Thats AMAZING. I'm going to have to steal it.

I also met Nate, who is a bear that nobody likes in Mistwood. I'm hoping he'll move to Townburg so we can mock him here. He has massive green eyebrows. 'Nuff said.

There was also another Angus, who made a point to make sure I knew he wasn't the same Angus. :P

Moxie also had some really cool clothes designs I took back with me to show to Lizz.

The other big to-do in Townburg tonight was a Meteor Shower! It was pretty made pretty noises every time a meteor shot across the sky. It was very pretty. So pretty, in fact, that Pippy not only cried and snotted all over herself, but she also felt the need to share that fact with someone. Lucky me.

What's up, Baseball!?!

So. Pirate outfit is back on the clothes rack. New thing: Gas Mask and Zipper Shirt. YAY. Had some amazing awesome visitors yesterday that brought new fruit! This is exciting. Sad to say though that my orange seedlings on the beach died. According to Coco, though, they were too close to the water.

So I've planted my newly acquired coconuts (Lizz gave me half) one spot more away from the water. I hope they don't die. I could have done the patient thing and planted more oranges there to see if they grow, but I'm an easily excited reckless sort of person.

There's also another sort of person, in Townburg (several sorts, in fact), one of whom is Puck. Puck is the village idiot, and is pretty special. It amuses me to NO END that he called me "Baseball"

Okay, so I suppose there's a slight chance I may have had something to do with that, but it doesn't make it any less funny.

Another... special sort of person to arrive in Townburg is Blanca. A white rabbit with no face. She must have heard about me, as I AM a world... okay town renowned graphic designer, because she came to me to give her a new face.

Oh yeah. I'm good.

I think she likes it. But its a good thing I had my handy dandy gas mask on, as she started emitting a pink fume. You can see it in the pic if you look closely
.

Annnywho, I also accomplished two other things. I paid off the second expansion to my house, and I also cultivated a Gold Shovel. One makes a Gold Shovel by owning two shovels, and using one to bury the other. After 24 hours you go back and dig it up and its made Gold. GOLD! GOOooooooold!

What, exactly, a Gold Shovel does better than a regular one, I'll never know. What I DO know, however, is that it BLINGS. And that is pertty sweet.

I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts!

Just a warning, I may break out into song.

So, it seems like the majority of people I talk to about Animal Crossing are in very similar boats; they have just recently procured the game (possibly as a gift) or have only started visiting other towns since Christmas. A lot of people apparently got the game during the Christmas season, including Chris 2 and I. Consequently, people are still figuring things out. To me, that's a part of the excitement of owning a Wii. It's a new technology that not a lot of people have and can therefore be challenging to figure out. This blog isn't just for Chris 2 and I's pleasure; we have and will continue to offer advice for gamers just starting out or otherwise.

In any case, that brings me to the topic of coconuts. Fruit trees are one of the main ways to earn a living in your Animal Crossing town. Each game comes with a native fruit. Townburg's native fruit is oranges. You might think that the majority of towns come with the same fruit; not so! In Townburg's attempt at increasing its agriculture, Chris 2 and I have discovered towns for each fruit except peaches. Alas! They have evaded us thus far.

The deal with coconuts is that one day they just wash up on your shore. I didn't expect we would be getting any anytime soon. Sunday, however, I was struck with the idea to search for users who had them and were willing to trade.

And that's how you get more fruits in your town. Trade. Trading is essential, not just with other human town owners but also with your neighbors. But I'll get to that in a second.

So, the other thing about coconuts is that they don't necessarily grow every time you plant them. Apparently this is the case with every type of fruit, coconuts are just so rare that you wouldn't want to waste them in a spot that won't be able to grow them. The solution? Plant saplings of your native fruit on your beach while you hunt for coconuts. Wherever the saplings grow into trees has good soil. Cut your native fruit trees down and plant a coconut in their place. Just be sure not to plant them too close to the water!

As I was saying, I found someone who was happy to trade us oranges for coconuts. Townburg owes a big thanks to Coco from Yardley. Coco is awesome. Liek, omg, so much. He visited us on Sunday. With his visit we also discovered that YOU DO NOT NEED WII SPEAK IN ORDER TO HEAR IT. This coming just after Chris 2 and I purchased a USB keyboard for use in visiting other towns. The dude at Circuit City insisted that you both needed Wii Speak in order to hear the other user. Lies! Furthermore, Wii Speak is awesome. It really helped us figure things out while Coco was in town.

Our other visitor was gamez from Lemuria, who could also hear Coco through Wii Speak.

I'm really glad that they both stopped by and had a hand in making Townburg even greater! I'm thinking of inviting everyone over for the KK Slider concert on Saturday.

But I told you I'd tell you about another way you can get non native fruit, so here goes.

According to multiple sources online, writing letters to your neighbors (within your town) can and will usually result in the receipt of gifts. The usual recommendation is to write something in the body of your letter like "How are you?", enclose a native fruit, and send it off. Your neighbors, supposedly, will respond with gifts, too, hopefully with non native fruit. I haven't had this happen to me, but I have received gifts in response to writing letters. Anything's worth a shot, right? And continuing to buy paper from Nook's will get you closer to a store upgrade. Sweet!

Citizen Update

If there's one thing Townburg has it's crazy citizens. Take Chris 2 and I, for instance. We're both very into this pirate costume right now. People are gonna start to think we share clothes...

Anyway, as I've mentioned, I haven't been living in Townburg for very long. According to Fang and Pippy, Townburg used to have a lot more events going on than it does right now. Apparently, Fang is a bit bored.

Personally, I'm surprised by his audacity. Punk of all people? I like Puck! Had I not been so shocked at Fang's suggestion I would have defended my arctic friend.

Pippy, meanwhile, has been telling everyone that she's moving. Chris 2 and I have both insisted that she not. After all, we were starting to get pretty close! The other day she asked if I could come up with a new catchphrase for her. She says "Yo, homes!" these days. I like it myself so I said I didn't have anything better. Well, she must be under some stress or be afraid of actually taking off, because she kind of wigged out about it.

She ran off in tears. This may end up being difficult for some; scheduling a time to meet someone, or even finding another willing user, can be tricky. Thankfully, Chris 2 and I met Lori through NeoSeeker and were able to finally visit one another's towns!

On Thursday night, Lori stopped by to deliver some useful tools that our Nook's Cranny did not yet carry. She stopped by the Abel Sisters and picked up an outfit I designed. It made me very excited and happy. I, of course, took a picture.

Hooray for fashion!

After spending a bit of time in Townburg, she invited me to Crawtown so I could pick up more fruit. It was my first time in Crawtown; it was my first time leaving Townburg! Very exciting. And I received a warm welcome from Crawtown's residents.

Everyone made me feel very welcome. ARH! The tragedy!
In a fit of boredom inspired by the desire to remain productive, I started making piles of shells. The day previous I had mailed gifts of fruit to all of my neighbors in the hope of receiving an amazing new fruit in return. Instead of fruit, they sent me a ton of new furniture, floors, and wallpapers. While disappointed, I realized that this is a great way to fill out my catalog without spending all my bells. BUT since Nook was closed, I had a problem.

My modest home soon became a storage unit. I even had more findings to store after this pic was taken, in the form of a couch, a gyroid, and several bugs. But I got it all in there!

I also decided in a stroke of genius to shake all the trees. I'm aware that trees bear fruit once every three days. So I'm assuming that the three day cycle doesn't begin until fruit is removed. So then I was on a crusade to make sure that no tree in Townburg was left unshook.

Finally exhausted from a long night of shell collecting and tree shaking, I retired and dreamt of warm, glowing Nook-N-Go's.

Guess where I went the next morning.

With the whoosh of an automatic sliding glass door, I stepped into the wonderful word of Nook-N-Go. Not only is there a better selection, but it's open until 1am! W00t! Bells, here I come! My days of going to bed at 10pm with a pocket full of fish is OVER. WIN.

After selling all of my previous night's work, I decided to try a new thing. I had heard horror stories of people having a rare and precious coconut wash ashore, only to have it die as a seedling. The solution, I heard, is to plant a different fruit tree where you would like to grow a palm tree. Once you have your coconut, you chop down the other tree, dig up the stump, and plant the coconut in the remaining hole. Supposedly this is foolproof. I have no coconut, but i decided to be proactive and to go ahead and plant some orange trees near the beach.

Then I dressed like a pirate and went fishing. YARR!!

January's Featured Hairstyle

In establishing the Townburg Times, Chris 2 and I have decided to write about our interests when it comes to the goings-on in Townburg. There is, after all, that old adage about writing what you know. I fancy myself an artistic, creative person with unique fashion sense. Therefore I plan on focusing on things like hairstyles and outfits in some of my posts!

The other day I decided to get a new haircut. I originally used my Wii-Mee mask, but after Lori stopped by and I saw her green hair I had the burning desire to take a chance! After some research, I figured out how to get the style I wanted.

The cut I'm wearing is part of the "Grown Up" series for female characters, the style is "Alluring", an interesting choice of words, and when your hairdresser gives you the third degree about whether or not you can handle the cut, you've got to insist that all the attention is "the idea!" The color is Cool and Attractive, don't you think?

I chose this cut, style, and color based on the outfit I designed (also pictured). It excellently compliments the light and dark pinks in the fabric. And I do believe that the green on my head matches the one used in the dress and matching umbrella. Tre chic!

If you like the haircut, be sure to stop by Shampoodles', the best place in the city for the snappiest service. You can also replicate the rest of the pictured ensamble by visiting the Abel Sisters' in Townburg and picking up the Spring Cupcake dress and umbrella designs created by yours truly! Friend Codes for Townburg's human residents are located in the sidebar on the left. Be sure to leave us your information if you'd like to visit!

It's January!

Its now the month of January!

The bugs available in January are the same as the ones in December. You can catch a Bitterling, Pale Chub, Crucian Carp, Dace, Barbel Steed, Carp, Koi, Goldfish, Popeyed Goldfish, Freshwater Goby, Bluegill, Yellow Perch, Black Bass, Pond Smelt, Stringfish, Sea Butterfly, Horse Mackerel, Sea Bass, Red Snapper, Dab, Olive Flounder, Squid, Octopus, Lobster, Football Fish, Tuna, and Coelacanth. That sounds like a lot of fish, but that's nothing compared to the summer months. I can't wait!

Also, on Saturday, January 17, there will be a fishing tournament from 6am - 6pm, and on Sunday, January 25, there will be a flea market.

And don't forget that every Saturday from 8pm to midnight K.K. Slider will play at the coffee shop. Last night's fireworks were awesome. I especially liked watching them from our museum! This morning, all of our residents are expressing excitement toward the coming year as well as to all the time we'll be spending together. Among the potentially OVER excited were Samson and Fang. Samson has been screaming "HAPPY NEW YEAR" at the top of his lungs all day. Fang, meanwhile, showed me a new dance he created.

The furry flirt.

I haven't spent a lot of time out and about in Townburg since moving there, but I am getting to know my neighbors well. I spend a lot of my time at home creating new and unique designs to sell at the Abel Sisters' shop. Right now, you can find unique designs created by me and Chris 2. My favorite thus far is the Spring Cupcake dress and umbrella that I made up just today! I've been zipping around Townburg in it! Our first visitor, Lori, also took home a dress I designed called, simply, P. I'm Chris 2, and I just wanted to say I hope everyone enjoys this blog. Please leave comments!

Last night I celebrated Countdown in front of Townburg City Hall with a few of Townburg's other residents. Everyone was excited, but some residents wouldn't come out of their houses. Party poopers. At first it was just myself and the Mayor, with Pippy running around like a hyperactive bunny. Though... of course she IS. But I wont hold that against her.

Finally the big moment was at hand. After completely DESTROYING my party popper at midnight, all of Townburg was treated to a miraculous display of fireworks. Few residents were able to resist the lure of the display, and most were outside enjoying the show, clapping, and commenting on how beautiful they were. Even the people who stayed indoors were able to see the show as their windows flickered with colors.

The show seemed to go on FOREVER, and I finally gave up and went to bed after about 40 minutes.

So far, today has NOT been uuneventful. This morning when I visited Tom Nook to sell him some fish, he informed me the store would be closed tomorrow for renovations. We'll finally be getting a Nook N' Go! I'm really excited for the extended hours!

We also had a visitor today! First I visited Crawtown where I met Lori. She traded fruit with me, and I acquired Cherries and Pears! These will look nice next to the Orange and Apple trees we already have in Townburg.

Then Lori followed me back to Townburg and did a little shopping. It was really fun, and Lori was really nice and also polite.

I have to say 2009 is starting out great. It soon became clear that chronicling the life and times of the residents of Townburg was absolutely necessary, and so to fill this need, Townburg Times is being established. It is the hope of the residents that this new publication will increase friendship and commerce with neighboring towns.

The two writers for the Townburg Times will be the two human residents, Chris 2 and Lizz.
